A/N: My first Bones fic! I'll happily receive any and all criticism, but please keep the rotten fruit throwing down to a minimum. :) A big thanks to _nigella_ for being my beta, and to kousuke_blade, humansrsuperior, and rosie_not_rose for their kind words and encouragement. :)

It was a cute story, she had to admit. And though he seemed embarrassed about it, he still chose to tell her, which she found to be oddly endearing.

Along similar lines as my previous post, where I noted how the various names on this show all seemed to mean something (and oftentimes juxtapose in an interesting way with those of others) I started thinking about how many situations on this show are direct opposites or parallel one another...

Author's Notes: In the second chapter, I introduce what will come to be a major plot point in this fic, and I have to say I'm quite nervous about it! It's been in the outline from the beginning, though, and I don't see any other way of saying what I want to say in this fic without it. I just hope you guys will trust me with it, to take the characters where they have to go while still keeping them in-character. :) Enjoy!
